Beyond COP21: A Conversation with Ernie Moniz

The Christian Science Monitor hosted a live conversation with United States Energy Secretary, Ernest Moniz followed by a panel discussion on Wednesday, April 20, 2016,

The theme of the event was the state of global energy and climate four months after last December's historic summit in Paris, and just days before leaders convene in New York City for the official signing ceremony.

The Paris Agreement generated a burst of optimism surrounding global climate efforts, but is that momentum translating into action? We'll discuss a range of domestic and international issues with Secretary Moniz, focusing on the technological innovations that are helping the US and other countries meet their pledges. We'll also get an update on Mission Innovation, a global coalition aimed at rapidly accelerating private and public investment in clean energy research.

The talk with the Secretary was followed by an expert panel, assembled in coordination with World Resources Institute. President Andrew Steer of WRI moderated the discussion.
