National Security and the Future of War


Arizona State University and New America hosted a discussion on the future of war with national security and military experts. In the first portion, Retired Lieutenant General Robert Schmidle, the former deputy commander of U.S. Cyber Command and current Professor of Practice at ASU's School of Politics and Global Studies and Senior Fellow at the Center on the Futre of War, spoke about current military readiness and where he sees warfare moving.

Panelists In the second portion talked about the following: journalist Peter Bergen, jihadist terrorism; Arizona State University Professors Candace Rondeaux and Daniel Rothenberg, Afghanistan and the spread of information, respectively; and former Assistant Defense Secretary Sharon Burke, the security landscape.
